August 11, 2007 Missouri has to be one of the most Youth friendly hunting states in the Union. They have a host of youth-only hunts and programs for school age kids to get them involved in the sport of hunting and shooting.
Missouri has now developed a mentoring program for older teens and adults who may not otherwise get the chance to hunt or shoot.

If you’ve done any deer hunting at all, you know the Moon phase plays a part in the behaviour of deer. Not only Whitetail Deer, but Mule Deer and other game animals. I know people who will not go deer hunting when the Moon is full. You don’t have to miss out on some of of the hottest hunting of the deer season just because the Moon is full. Here are a few tips to help you take advantage of any Moon phase during the deer hunting season.

If you drew a blank trying to get your Colorado Deer, Elk, Pronghorn or Turkey permits, luck may not have left you completely.
Starting August 7th at 9 a.m., the left over permits will go on sale at all license agents. Click here for a list of license agents in Colorado (give it a few minutes to load, the list is long)

August 4, 2007 You can’t open a hunting magazine today without being bombarded with ads about the latest and greatest deer scent, deer lures, seed to plant green fields, designer camo, hi tech gadgets and much more. Then, as if that wasn’t bad enough, you get to an article and it’s some so called Deer Guru talking about how he shot a Mega Buck at 250 yards with his rifle across a green field.

August 4, 2007 Now this is a new way to get your Deer. I just wonder if you have to fight the bird for the deer after he catches it? LOL
I’m not sure how successful the bird would be on a 250 lb Maine buck though!

August 4, 2007 According to the New Mexico Dept. of Game & Fish, there are about 2000 left over Permits available for Deer and about 60 left over Permits for Elk available. These Permits will be available on the Departments website starting at 8 a.m. on August 7th.

July 28, 2007 Barry Rose, ex NFL Wide Reciever, bagged Wisconsin’s State Record Whitetail buck with a bow last year.
Barry arrowed this 16 point monster one afternoon as he sit in his treestand in Dunn county. This Wisonsin big buck takes over the top bow kill spot from the former #1, Ken Shanes 186 5/8ths inch Buffalo county monster arrowed in 2000. Barry’s 16 pointer’s final score was 187 2/8ths.

July 27, 2007 Hey Michigan deer hunters, it’s time to apply for your antlerless permits. Very few, if any, antlerless permits are expected to be available over the counter this year, so you’d better make sure you get yourself and your party in the drawings.
The deadline to have your application is in August 15. You’ll be able to see the drawing results starting on September 10 at 10 a.m. by going to the Michigan DNR website. There is a $4 application fee.
