I am a life time license holder of 30 years. I will be purchasing a bear tag. Do I like that it's $101, no, nor do I like the 20 bear limit then ending the season. The fact is that the the ODWC has done a wonderful job with the big game opportunities in OK. Deer, Elk, pronghorn and now bears available. This is the very beginning of our bear hunting. Hopefully, they will get things straightened out and either have a real bear "Season" and either lower the fees for lifetime holders or drop it all together. Until then, thanks for a job well done. Heck, the tag fee is a very small part of the money I've already spent on a new lease in Pushmataha county, gas back and forth from Tulsa, baits, barrels..... Hell, it's just a fraction of the price I spent to chase them in Newfoundland!

Your's is a typical Oklahoma attitude. Thinking like your's is how Oklahoma has become a leader of third world states. Either pay to play or stay home and keep your mouth shut.

i completly agree the odwc like the rest of our ill appointed public office holders. they shake our hands coming in the door and stab us in the back on the way out. odwc has the most confusing jacked up hunting regs i have ever seen, in arkansas all people have to do is buy a license and the tags for the various animals (buck, does, turkey, bear) come with the license and are included with the price of the license!! how simplistic that is isnt it? then i go five miles to oklahoma and i have to pay 200 plus dollars and decide first what i want to hunt with because the "bean counters" decided to COMPLETLY break down every single f-----g way to kill a animal and charge me for it. JUST SELL ME A FLAT RATE LICENSE AND LET ME HUNT!!!!!!!!!! ODWC wants to increase revenue but scare more hunters off by creating a reg system that rivals the 2011 irs tax regs!!!

If you're going to allow 20 bears to be killed, then issue 20 permits. Build off the lessons learned. If only 12 permits are filled, then next year issue 28....you can even add an estimated percentage figuring for 20% (for example) of the tags being unfilled. If the hunters manage 100% of the tags filled....then next year, cut back a few. Don't pork the lifetime hunting license holders...that's just plain wrong....and I don't even hunt bear. But no matter what they hunt, don't change the rules on them after the fact. That's like.....well....Washington D.C. (how's that for a slam??)

i agree with you..... the most logical solution to this problem should have been to have a special hunt set aside for black bear where you can get drawn in. its B.S. they are making way to much off the false pretense that your geting to go bear hunting but must check to see if quota has been met before pulling trigger.

I agree why would the ODWC go back on there word. Life time hunting license holder should not have to purchase a bear tag.

I agree with most of what your saying, but raising lifetime license is not a good ideal. Just because you already have one paid for. Some of us parents have kids and struggle to pay 775.00 That leaves alot of kids out now. Bob
