Michigan Deer Hunting Rule Changes Plus Antlerless Permits
Hey Michigan deer hunters, it's time to apply for your antlerless permits. Very few, if any, antlerless permits are expected to be available over the counter this year, so you'd better make sure you get yourself and your party in the drawings.
The deadline to have your application is in August 15. You'll be able to see the drawing results starting on September 10 at 10 a.m. by going to the Michigan DNR website. There is a $4 application fee.

Private land antlerless permits will be available over the counter starting August 16 at 10 a.m. Hunters thinking about obtaining the private land antlerless permits will need the name and telephone number of the person giving the permission to hunt.
In Michigan's Upper Peninsula and in the Norther Lower Peninsula, there will be a 40 acre minimum before you can apply for a private land antlerless permit.
Michigan residents 10 to 16 can buy 1 antlerless permit over the counter for either private or public land until August 15. A parent or guardian must be present when the purchase is made.
'07 Rule Changes For Michigan Deer Hunters
If you're planning on hunting deer in Michigan this year, there are a few rule changes you'll want to know about.
First off, do your part and get an antlerless permit. Michigan has increased the number of antlerless permits this year by nearly 12k.
The NRC has added 12 counties where the deer population is above goal.
Also this year, deer hunters between 10 and 16 will be allowed to take either an antlered deer or antlerless deer with a firearms or combination license during the Youth firearm deer season, Sept. 22-23.
