Josh probably the best advice I could give u is keep salt and a mineral called tag out in the woods for them alone with lots of corn all summer and stop before deer season. Find a good place that you can get to without being winded ideally set a NNW stand for the rut and a S SW deer stand for early season. I'd put like 200lbs of triple 15 fertilizer on a 40ydx40yd spot on a bunch of redoaks or whatever was around my best stand site. But the main thing is never go in the woods unless ur feeding in the summer in and out but keep plenty of minerals and corn. The only time I would hunt this honeyhole would be the first week of bow season with the perfect wind if u don't kill then u may slip in on the edge one time till the rut but I'd wait till it got right let everyone hunt around u and the deer will find the lil place with no pressure hope it helps u

Great post, especially the parts about natural forage and "mini" food plots. I actually planted one of these for the first time a few days ago, using pretty much the methods you mentioned. I was lucy enough, however, to have time to do it on a rainy day so I didn't have to water.

Awesome Tips. Thanks! I especially like the idea of fertilizing natural forage. Never thought to do that before. AND, I appreciate the reminder on caring for the meat. I would HATE to lose my meat because of being careless.
